This topic outlines the general steps you must take in order to use AssetWorX to build an asset tree. If additional providers are installed, you must also refer to the documentation for those providers so that you can include the requirements for those providers, too.
Create an AssetWorX Configuration Database, Connect to it, and Activate it.
Define basic information required on the Product Configuration node.
Follow the Steps to Building an Asset Tree. These steps include Adding Equipment to the Asset Tree.
With each equipment node (equipment nodes are also known as "assets") that you add to your asset tree, you will define information that includes Setting up Commands for Runtime Navigation, and Defining User and Group Permissions for Equipment, as well as including information related to other installed providers such as Energy AnalytiX and FDDWorX.
Several features are designed to help you to work with your AssetWorX installation. They include:
The use of Equipment Classes as single- or multiple-tiered templates, into which you can embed aliases. By using a process called instantiation, you can quickly replace aliases with the data that defines the equipment that you used your templates to create.
The ability to Import and Export data and Make Copies using the Multiply Function.
