View and Share Dashboards

Use Presentation Mode

Presentation mode is designed to hide all configuration aspects of KPIWorX and allow the user to focus on the dashboard elements themselves.

To toggle between presentation mode and edit mode, select the presentation mode button in the upper left corner, or hit the P key.

Hide the Presentation Mode Header

For an even more uncluttered view, you can hide the KPIWorX header in presentation mode. To do this, go to Settings and clear the Show Header option.

Note: Removing the presentation header will remove any obvious way to exit presentation mode. You can add back in a mode toggle button using the mode component from the System library. You can also exit presentation mode by hitting the P key.

To add the mode component:

  1. Go to Settings > Symbols and check the box for System.

  2. If it is collapsed, expand the right panel, then select the Component Library button, or press the C key.

  3. Drag the mode component into a cell.

Hide or Show a Series in Presentation Mode

You can toggle the visibility of an individual series in a categorical chart by selecting the series' entry in the legend in presentation mode. Hidden series show as faded in the legend.

To change the visibility of a series in edit mode, select the chart widget, go to Widget Settings, expand Series, then toggle Visibility in the Appearance section. See Working with charts for more details.

Start in Presentation Mode

You can force KPIWorX to start in presentation mode by altering a configuration file. On the KPIWorX server, navigate to the installation directory, then WebSites\AnyGlass\Bin. Open Ico.AnyGlass.KPIWorX.config with Notepad or another text editor. Search for this line:

<StartInPresentationMode enabled="false" />

Change false to true. Save and close the file.

Share a Dashboard

To share a dashboard, select the share button in the upper left corner.

You can either share the dashboard as a link, or an image. Sharing as a link allows the recipient to see live data, but requires them to have the appropriate access (internet/intranet connection and security permissions) to the page. Sharing as an image will take a still capture of the dashboard.

When sharing as an image, the header and configure mode components will not be captured.

When selecting to email the image or link, the email will be sent from the server machine. For more information on how to configure email on the server, see AlertWorX Email.

Share or Export Data from a Widget

You can share an individual widget instead of a whole dashboard. Select the more options button on a widget and select Share. You can choose whether to share the data as CSV, in an HTML table, or as an image of the widget.

Note: You cannot share a link to an individual widget. If you would like to share a link so your recipient can see the live data, share the entire dashboard.

Note: To export data from a Trend widget, the process works slightly differently. See Exporting Data.

Maximize a Single Widget

If you would like to temporarily focus on a single widget, select the more options button on that widget, then select Maximize. To return the widget to its previous location, select the more options button again, then select Minimize.

This function is available in both edit and presentation modes. A maximized widget will remain maximized when toggling between edit and presentation mode.
