Configuration

Hyper Historian Splitter is a dialog-based application that runs in two modes:

The Source Directory for Hyper Historian Splitter will contain the .hhd files to covert.

The Target Directory for Hyper Historian Splitter will then contain the converted .hhd files.

Hyper Historian Splitter does not have a separate Runtime component, as all functionality is integrated into the component's user interface.

Note: The Source Directory and Target Directories cannot be the same location. They must point to different locations.

Note: Source HHD files cannot be used by Hyper Historian Logger (or any other applications) during the conversion process.

Splitter Mode

Hyper Historian Splitter's Splitter Mode involves a fast and low CPU/memory-intensive conversion process. It creates HHD files with the same time range that was defined in its source file. It does not recreate the index file. The index file is created automatically by the Logger when data is requested.

Archive Rearrange Mode

Hyper Historian Splitter's Archive Rearrange Mode uses the File Logger to rearrange archive files, logging all data samples to new HHD files. In addition to "splitting", this mode can also handle:

The Archive Rearrange Mode is more CPU/memory-intensive than Splitter Mode and, therefore, can be a comparatively slower process.
