EarthWorX displays web maps created in ArcGIS. The ArcGIS system offers customizable servers on which users can place maps and access them through applications as well as perform analytics and many other actions.
The Esri Server provides bidirectional interactivity between the Esri server and GraphWorX64. This provides interaction between the Esri objects and the GraphWorX64 controls.
The Esri Server provides Multiple Layer Import, which allows the user to import multiple layers at one. This tool is
The Esri Widget for EarthWorX improves interactivity between EarthWorX and Esri servers.
Legend: Describes map data as defined by the user
LayerList: Controls the displaying of individual layers
Query: Serves as a server for database access. Adds items to maps according to user defined database queries.
Bookmarks: Pre-defined views.
Edit: Inserts new data into the map.
Print: Allows the user to print the map.
Geoprocessing: Enables adding "Pushpins" to the map server.
Full Esri mapping integrates any and all layers placed on the Esri web maps inside of the EarthWorX controls. This includes Feature Layers, Graphic Layers, Style Layers, and any other layers that you can create and insert into a map using Esri ArcGIS.
Feature Layers:
Feature layers layer data from a database being rendered on the map.
Graphic Layers:
Graphic layers are layers that support rendering customer symbols on the map based directly on their geographic positions.
Styles Layers:
Styles layers are the most commonly used type of layers and are utilized primarily for simple mapping. Users familiar with the Azure Net provider have seen these layers before, because all Face Maps, Azure Net support and Google OGCW Maps supported by EarthWorX also use style layers.
In Esri support, any Face Map provided by Esri from 10.90 onward is supported. These include; Dark Grey Canvases, Open Street Maps, as well as Face Maps.
From the user's point of view, you are provided with a single EarthWorX control component which you can place on your display.
EarthWorX Data Providers:
Single Data Provider - Users must always connect to a single data source to obtain map data. This includes with Bing and Google Maps. Every time the user connects to one of these data sources, they must always connect to the same data source in order to render a map.
Multiple Data Providers - This includes OGC/WMS maps and Esri Maps. Both of these are customizable, which means that the user can set up their own server, use an Esri server, or use a server from another provider. Once the server is set up, they can host their maps on the Desktop or on the server itself.
EarthWorX Control - Inside the EarthWorX Control, you can set up a custom connection to connect to the server, as well as download map data into your client application from the aforementioned custom server.
EarthWorX hosts Esri ArcGIS within its system. This independent component handles all layer and map implementations automatically, which allows the expansion of map support for different types of layers.
Support is now available for Feature Layers and Graphic Layers. The new aspect of the Feature Layers are a form of data being stored in the database before being rendered onto the map itself.
Once you connect to an Esri server and load a map containing a feature or graphic layer in Runtime mode, you can select the feature and graphics. Selecting the graphics highlights them, whereas selecting the feature creates a global alias which is then filled with data coming from the feature.
To connect to Esri, we have created a connection dialog where users can browse through Esri portals and set up visibility.
Once connected to an Esri server, you are connected to a map board. These dialogs allow you to perform particular tasks. For example, you can search for specific maps on this portal using full text search. Once you find a map you want to place in your EarthWorX control, you need to set which layers you want to see and which ones you want to hide. Once you perform this action, the map loads into EarthWorX.
When you place a new EarthWorX control in your display, it automatically starts in demo Bing mode. This means that the tiles you are downloading are free Bing demo tiles that come from the Bing server. These tiles cannot be used commercially, as they all contain watermarks, and your map will
In order to acquire commercial tiles, you must register within the Bing server. Maps larger than 512 pixels will repeat themselves.
