The first step in creating an alarm configuration in AlarmWorX Multimedia is to create a subscription, which defines a connection to an alarm server. A subscription specifically describes alarms in which the Multimedia component is interested. To create a subscription to one or several OPC Alarm and Event servers, do the following:
Expand the Alarm inputs folder in the Configurator tree.
Right click Alarm Subscriptions and select Alarm Subscription or select Alarm Subscriptions and click the Add button on the Home ribbon. The Multimedia Alarm Subscription form displays.
Type a subscription name in the Subscription Name text box.
Click Add New Event Point button. The OPC UA window displays. Navigate to the OPC Alarm and Event Server to connect to it.
Click OK. You are brought back to the Alarm Subscription form. You can see the Name or the path of the subscription by selecting the corresponding radio button.
(Optional) You can add another subscription, just click the Add New Event Point button as you did in step 4.
Click OK.
Click the Apply button.
Note: To Remove an Event Point select the Event Point that you want to remove from the Subscribed Points box and click the Remove Event Point button. |
To edit fields for the subscription click the Edit the fields of the Subscription button. The Add/Remove fields from the subscriptions dialog box displays.
The type of event is on the left side. Expand each level and select the event to display the corresponding fields that display on the right side of the window.
Select or deselect fields to add or remove them from the subscriptions. You can also select the Select/Unselect checkbox to select or deselect all the fields listed.
Click the OK button when you are done.
Once you have configured your subscriptions, the AlarmWorX64 Multimedia Server will receive all alarms subscribed to in the configuration database. Filters let you retrieve a subset of alarms from your subscription. For help setting up filters, refer to Multimedia Alarm Filters.
