Clearing Device & Objects Cache Created by Auto-discovery

In some cases, it may be necessary to manually configure the way that BACnet Runtime 64 behaves, and how it communicates with other devices, etc. For example, you can set communication parameters such as force using the ReadProperty service even if remote BACnet devices are supporting the ReadPropertyMultiple service or force using COV instead of polling method.

This can be done in Workbench64:

  1. Launch Workbench64.
  2. Switch to the BACnet Provider as shown below.

  1. Expand 'localhost'.
  2. Expand the active configuration database (by default called 'BACnet').
  3. Double-click the 'Devices' tree item. Now you can access the BACnet Runtime Settings and Options, split into two tabs: General (shown below) and Communication.

  1. In the General tab, click the "Clear Now" button in the "Device & Object Cache" section. You can also decide to "Clear at Startup" by ticking the nearby checkbox.

Alternatively, clearing Device & Objects Cache can also be done via the BACnet Runtime Provider:

If you select “Clear Device(s) From Cache”, then you can choose which ones to remove:
