When Hyper Historian is installed, users will find a simple WinForm application called History Reader (HistoryReader.exe). This application is for just a quick check for one tag only and stores the result in a *txt file.
Hyper Reader is a command line-based tool that allows users much more possibilities. It's based on plug-in modules. It includes some input of the source data (e.g., Hyper Historian), output plugin (e.g., SQL) and additional xml settings. Because the Hyper Reader allows multiple tags to be processed (even the whole configuration), the demands for data transfer are higher. Multiple reading/writing mechanisms are optimized for huge amounts of data.
An additional related tool is Data Exporter, a built-in mechanism directly in the Hyper Historian provider. It provides even more functionality and the output is not necessarily in SQL/Azure SQL. Plugins are included for Azure Data Lakes/Kafka/Local CSV storage and Hadoop file storage. It also includes a user-friendly GUI, where everything can be easily configurable through Workbench-based forms.
