You can copy a color using the eyedropper tool and can even save the copied color for later use. This is handy when there is a color in an model or icon that you want to duplicate without creating it from scratch.
To use the eyedropper tool:
Make sure the object whose color you want to copy is in the GraphWorX64 display. It can be in the 2D space or in the 3D viewport; it doesn’t matter. (If the object whose color you want to copy is not in the display, add it temporarily; you can remove it after you’ve copied it.)
Select the 3D object you want to copy the color to.
Click the Material ellipsis button from the Properties tab to open the Color dialog box.
Click the color box next to the Diffuse Color label to open the color swatch dialog box.
Click the eyedropper icon to activate it. The cursor becomes an eyedropper.
Using the eyedropper cursor, click the color you want to copy. The color is absorbed into the eyedropper.
Note: The cursor is still an eyedropper at this point. If you clicked the wrong area and the color is not the color you want, you can click any area until the eyedropper takes on the color you are looking for.
Click the inkwell next to the eyedropper icon. This deposits the eyedropper color into the inkwell.
Once the inkwell contains the right color, you can save the color for future use by clicking the eyedropper icon again, then clicking one of the free cells available at the bottom of the dialog box.
Click OK to close the Color Swatch dialog box. In the Color dialog box, the Diffuse Color box now contains the color to be applied to the object.
Click OK to close the Color dialog box and apply the color to the selected object. The object now takes on the new color and its Material property has changed.
